Private Jet Charter Havana

Finally, You Can Take a Jet Charter to Havana!

The tiny neighbor 100 miles away from the U.S. has lived in a different world for the last 5 decades or so. But now that time is coming to an end, as the Castros are at the end of their reign and the U.S. has decided there is too much political pressure and economic opportunity available there.

Private Jet Charter Flight Cuba HavanaDiplomatic relations have come first, with the initial baby steps towards normalcy taken by President Barack Obama and Cuban President Raúl Castro at a meeting in December of 2014. In spite of this, it's still very important to know that while many rules and regulations have been relaxed, the Cuban trade embargo is still currently in effect, and the rules of doing business and visiting Havana and Cuba as a whole are still quite murky at best.

Also know that travel to Cuba is restricted, and private jet charter to Havana and elsewhere cannot be for the sake of tourism in no uncertain terms. The ban is strictly enforced if that is shown to be the case, though the list of acceptable travel is wide and varied enough that most people can find a way to qualify for visits. Spend too many hours sunning on the beach or sipping mojitos however, and you could quickly run afoul of U.S. enforcers.

Another major caveat is that “no monies shall flow directly into the government, but there is so much small industry small private companies or individuals now allowed by the Cuban government – that you can get by on the island without much other need. Besides, you should be supporting the locals in the first place!

American citizens can travel to Havana and Cuba in general according to the rules of the US Office of Foreign Assets Control. All visits must fall under one of 12 approved categories. They are:

  1. Family visits
  2. Official business of the U.S. government
  3. Journalistic activity
  4. Professional research and professional meetings
  5. Educational activities
  6. Religious activities
  7. Public performances, clinics, workshops, athletic and other competitions, and exhibitions
  8. Support for the Cuban people
  9. Humanitarian projects
  10. Activities of private foundations or research or educational institutes
  11. Exportation, importation, or transmission of information or information materials
  12. Certain export transactions

Categories are self-reported, i.e. you need not register these reasons for travel in any official way. Should any official inquire about the reason for your visit however, have readily available information that details its purpose is a very vital step.

Charter Jet Flights to Havana CubaOther than travel to the nation, including private jet charter to Havana, there are very few other direct U.S. interests in the country. Embassy re-openings are still in the works, so be prepared. You also need to keep all documents related to your trip schedule, a record of appointments, receipts, and so on for up to five years in case you get audited. Your Priority One Jets travel representative can help with any additional questions you may have.

And on the Cuban side, the government requires that you possess a passport that’s valid for at least six months beyond the dates of travel, proof of health insurance coverage, and a visitor's visa.

Know that Cuba’s infrastructure also lags those of neighboring countries greatly. Its roads, energy grid, and digital network are far behind most countries in the Western Hemisphere, with Internet and cell phone service available in a small minority of places. Business is already starting to boom as more capital is flowing in from foreign investors, more so now that the U.S. has begun to show interest in this particularly unique opportunity of a large, untouched market. But the results of this investment won’t be seen for years.
