Manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace, the Challenger 350 first entered service in 2014. It is the first variation of the Challenger 300, which was launched in 2004 and became the popular choice in the super-mid class. The Challenger 350 appears primed to take over the mantle. The Challenger 350 integrates sophisticated styling, ergonomics and advanced cabin technology flawlessly. It provides an atmosphere that’s conducive to both work and relaxation. It has improved range but maybe the best feature of the Challenger 350 is its runway performance which allows the aircraft to access the most challenging airports.

Challenger 300

Challenger 300_Config

The cabin of the Challenger 300 fits eight or nine passengers in a double-club configuration (three seats can be swapped out for a 3-person divan, if desired). All of the passenger seats are fully adjustable and have fold-out tables and individual AC power plugs. Two-zone air conditioning keeps both the pilots and the passengers comfortable, and low-heat LED overhead lights (with a 10,000 hour life) give the cabin an open feel. The cabin itself stretches to a length (not including the cockpit) of 16.5 feet, a height of 6.1 feet, and a width of 7.2 feet. The 106 cubic feet of baggage (750 pounds) stored in an exterior compartment is accessible in-flight through the fully enclosed lavatory. A forward luggage closet can be added as well.

Legacy 500

The Embraer Legacy 500 (EMB-550) are Brazilian mid-size business jets launched by Embraer in April 2008, the first of their size with a flat-floor stand-up cabin and fly-by-wire. The longer 500, which typically carries 4 passengers over 3,125 nmi (5,790 km) with room for up to 12, first flew on November 27, 2012, and was certified on August 12, 2014.

Citation Latitude_Config

The Cessna Citation Latitude is a mid-sized jet designed and manufactured by Cessna. First announced by Cessna at the 2011 NBAA Business Aviation Conference, the aircraft took less than four years to go through design and testing to earn its certification from the Federal Aviation Administration on June 5, 2015. It was launched as a larger aircraft than the Cessna Citation XLS+ and cheaper than the Cessna Citation Sovereign. The aircraft seats 9, and features twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D turbofan engines. The Citation Latitude features a cruciform tail and all-metal fuselage. First deliveries are scheduled for early 2016, showing how much Cessna can accomplish in four short years.

Falcon 50EX

The cabin of the Falcon 50EX is perhaps the part of the jet that has changed the least. It still has a height and width of 5.9 and 6.1 feet, respectively. At 23.5 feet in length the Falcon 50EX features a total cabin volume of 700 cubic feet. 115 cubic feet of baggage storage is available in internal compartments. Three closets in the cabin provide space for coats, suits, and briefcases. All baggage compartments are fully pressurized. A total of 2,205 pounds of bags can be stored.

Gulfstream G200

The Gulfstream G200 is a super-mid jet originally developed by Israel Aircraft Industries and named the Israel IAI-1126 Galaxy. When Gulfstream purchased Galaxy Aerospace in 2001 the model was rebranded as the G200. The Gulfstream 200 seats up to ten passengers and is capable of flying nearly 4,000 miles without stopping. It can also cruise at a speed of 470 knots at altitudes as high as 41,000 feet. One of the signature features of the G200 is its cabin height of 6.3ft, which is actually greater than that of the G450 (6.1ft).

Citation Sovereign

With a cabin volume of 620 cubic feet, the Citation Sovereign can seat up to nine passengers. The cabin is about 25 feet long, 5.8 feet high, and 5.6 feet wide, providing ample space for movement and productivity. The baggage compartment holds an impressive 135 cubic feet, which is more than double the capacity for what is typical in midsize jets. This means the compartment easily fits nine suitcases, eight gulf bags and up to eight pairs of skis.
